I have a easycap capture card already but that only record and view on pc screen

i have my computer set up on my monitor, but when i hook it up to my hd tv. it says to check the output settings or something like that. it used to work before. but then i updated my video driver. how do i make it work on my hd tv?

I want to watch Saturday Night Live actually live as it is coming on TV because my TV is broken. Is there any possible way I can watch it on the computer live as it is coming on?
